Cardinia Rd Railway Station

In 2011 The Department Of Transport engaged Lump Sculpture Studio to produce a major artwork for the pedestrian underpass at the new Cardinia Road Railway Station. Under the brief headed "Where we live and grow" Lump designed and created approximately 14 meters of Light Feature panels. The panels graphically explore the local landscape and topography together with places of significance and local flora and fauna. The map of the local topography is a subtle, underlying illuminated feature while the Pelican, Pied Cormorant and the Growing Grass Frog are delicately engraved into the design along with a local map of the area that is easily recognisable to the community. A big thank you to Laura Hamilton and The Department Of Transport for giving us the opportunity to collaborate on such a great project. And also thanks to our Dan from Lump for attending the opening of the station and talking on behalf of all of us at Lump. Bek at Little Red Photography took these beautiful images on the weekend.
