Stef shares his sentiMETAL project at Lump
Technically, at Lump we are still on holidays. So that means more time to chat about our most sentiMETAL projects we completed last year. I asked 4 questions to all of the Lumpians about what projects they were sentiMETAL about in 2012. Stef, our Production Manager had a more overall approach to the questions, here is what he had to say.
What is your most sentiMETAL job you have worked on this year? To be honest, many of the projects tend to roll into one. But when it comes down to favorites, the bigger the better. I also enjoy the challenge of building baffle boxes (for water features).
Why are the large projects your favorite? I like to shift all of the super heavy stuff around the studio. Anything that requires chains and the forklift gives me a buzz.
What special part do you play in the building of large heavy projects? I play many parts in the building of each and every project but in particular I enjoy welding stainless. Making straight lines takes skill and patience.
What was the most memorable thing about the large heavy projects? Being able to move tonnes of materials and equipment around the studio safely. I’m looking forward to the day we are commissioned a three tonne, stainless steel baffle box!
