MIFGS 2015

The 2015 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is creeping up on us again and all of us at Lump are very excited to be contributing to two very different and very fabulous show gardens.
This year Mark Browning and Lisa Ellis are teaming up to present their show garden “Quietude”.

‘Quietude’ represents a quiet celebration of outdoor life, horticulture and bespoke Australian product and design.

The garden will feature a sculptural piece made from a series of different brass and stainless steel mesh materials, constructed using a delicate and experimental process giving it an ephemeral appearance much like an Iris coming into Blossom. It’s an unusual piece for Lump, it is unlike any of our other pieces in a structural sense but it is very much in keeping with the organic themes seen through our catalogue of works.

Also in the line up this year at MIFGS inspired by a ‘new direction for Australian landscaping’ is Brett Robinson from Acre Landscape Architecture Studio presenting ‘Avant Garde’n’.

‘Avant Garde’n’ displays a mixture of hard surfaces and a selection of plants hardy enough to withstand the harsh Australian climate but delicate enough to soften their surrounds.

Brett approached Lump looking for a custom sculptural piece that would sit amongst the low-lying foliage in his display. Rising to the challenge and the opportunity to create something new we created a series of white powder coated aluminum shapes, which when brought together look like the refractions of light inside a diamond.

We are so proud to be contributing to all that is MIFGS for yet another year and even more so to be contributing to two very different and very special displays overflowing with incredible Australian talent, design and creativity.
